March 28, 2008

Archbishop Chuck Jones of the Southeast Province will ordain three men as deacons for the Charismatic Episcopal Church of St. Peter the Fisherman in Wilmington, NC. This is particularly noteworthy as these men are the first to obtain Holy Orders in the church's twelve year history.

Donald R. Jarboe, a physical therapist and owner of Port City Physical Therapy in downtown Wilmington has been a member almost since the beginning of St Peters. He has served on the Rector's Council for both rectors that have shepherded this church. Donald teaches children's church with his wife, Kara, is a commissioned Lay Eucharistic Minister, and is active in other ministries of the church. The Jarboes have two sons and have been members of the CEC and St. Peter's for twelve years.

David C. Hueholt, is a dedicated stay-at-home father who homeschools his two boys, a member of the Rector's Council, a children's church teacher, a member of the worship team, a commissioned Lay Eucharistic Minister, and supervisor of many administrative functions of the church. His wife, Therese, is a child and adolescent psychiatrist serving in the public mental health sector. He and his family have been members of the CEC and St.. Peter's for seven years.

The third man, Ronald L. Howell, is a registered nurse at New Hanover Rehabilitation in Wilmington. Ronald provides medical support to St Peter's Early Bread ministry, a Sunday morning breakfast program to the homeless and poor, along with his wife, Sandra, who is also a nurse. Ron is a member of the Rector's Council, a commissioned Lay Eucharistic Minister, and has taught classes to adults in Wednesday evening services. The Howells have four children, all over the age of 20, and have been faithful communicants of the CEC for nine years, five of which have been spent at St. Peter's.

Rector Fr. Mark Johnson and the congregation of St. Peter the Fisherman would like to congratulate these three men on being dedicated servants of Christ, and wish them all the blessings of a faithful God in their new office.
